Social Media Surgery Movement

Are you one of the trendy folks posting “selfies” all over social media? Or are you completely over everyone’s self-centered approach to online socializing? Either side of the spectrum, admit it, you’ve done it at least once! So how many “selfie” shots did you take before you found one that you deemed good enough to post? Well the new “selfie” generation’s photos are having more of an impact on us than we thought. Apparently there is a rise in plastic surgery as a result of seeing ourselves more often in social postings, and many of us don’t like what we see. Seeing what we look like in these candid moments and the imperfections that stand out is sending many of us running to the plastic surgeon.

Deemed “social media surgery,” plastic surgeon Dr. Milgrim (New Jersey) explained this trend in an interview with Beauty World News. “One third of facial plastic surgeons have seen an increase in patients due to how they are viewing themselves on these (online) sites… 26% of patients now come to a doctor for advice due to seeing their selfies online, creating a significant rise in demand for more procedures… Patients look at their pictures posted online… Due to more online presence with endless images, the need to fix these things becomes more palpable."

To this “selfie” generation, the doctor recommends starting with simple touch ups rather than complete makeovers that drastically change your face. Things such as Botox and other fillers are types of minimal treatments that can make those subtle changes to improve things people don’t like about their appearance.

Facial rejuvenation procedures are among the most popular and sought after types of treatment. However, it can be very confusing and hard for patients to know what type of treatment is best suited for them and often many undergo cosmetic surgery procedures that are not optimal for them. For this same reason, it is very important to carefully choose a cosmetic surgeon that will explore the best options for treatment with you.

The Future of Cosmetic Surgery

"The surge in plastic surgery has been in the media headlines a lot lately. Whether based on unrealistic images, Photoshop debacles or the popularity of the "selfie" culture, more and more people are going under the knife. A new piece of technology is taking the guesswork out of plastic surgery with a digital rendering of the final results before the procedure even takes place.

"The VECTRA System works by using advanced three-dimensional photographic simulations to scan the body and capture a 3D digital image. The software allows the surgeon to manipulate the proportions of the image, offering the patient a realistic expectation of the final product."

"The benefits of using 3D imaging for breast augmentation consultations cannot be underestimated, especially for those women who are concerned about the results and who are unsure about whether to go ahead. Research shows that those women who opt for 3D digital imaging before undergoing breast augmentation surgery are much more likely to be satisfied with the results of the operation than those women who do not.

"Many plastic surgeons say that another huge benefit of 3D imaging is that more often than not women change their existing preconceptions about what breast size is good for them after seeing exactly how would look and this means that the likelihood of having to have corrective surgery to satisfy an unhappy patient is significantly reduced."

Please visit our website to see how we use these advanced technologies for our clients to help them visualize and make more informed decisions so they can have the best possible results in any cosmetic surgery. Look for the current specials we are offering that use this 3D imaging. We are committed to offering the opportunity to enhance your natural beauty and achieve the look you’ve always wanted, while ensuring the personalized care necessary to make your cosmetic procedure a rewarding and satisfying experience.

Is Breast Augmentation Right For You?

Breast augmentation is one of the most common plastic surgery procedures today. When considering a breast augmentation to enhance you image, there are a variety of factors to evaluate. Breast implants are used during augmentation to increase the size and shape of the breast. There are other types of breast enhancement surgeries which can be used in conjunction with implants or alone, including breast lift, breast reduction and nipple surgery.

These can be very successful when performed on the right patients, but the surgery is not always appropriate for every woman. Here are some examples why breast augmentation surgery is a good option for many women:

A breast lift is performed to correct drooping, sagging breasts. In performing this procedure, the surgeon removes excess skin to raise the breasts higher on the chest. Breast lift is often part of a mommy makeover, a combination procedure to help mothers regain a more youthful appearance following the rigors of pregnancy and childbirth. Breast reduction is a procedure in which excessively large breasts are reduced in volume by means of the surgical removal of breast tissue and skin. Nipple surgery is performed to correct nipples that are too large, too small or mismatched.

If you are thinking about breast enhancement surgery, be sure to do some research and learn more about breast augmentation… Consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon… During this consultation, the surgeon will perform an exam and listen carefully to your goals for surgery. It is important to be as clear as possible about what you want to achieve with the surgery and the exact look you desire. The surgeon will then tell you what you need to know about breast augmentation, including information about cost and risks.  http://www.yourplasticsurgeryguide.com/breast-augmentation/

At Ciao Bella Med Spa, an evaluation is performed during your initial consultation with Dr. Edgardo Zavala. The best way to determine if you are a good candidate for breast augmentation is with a thorough, in-person examination and evaluation by a qualified cosmetic surgeon.  Please visit our website to see the latest technology we use to give you an idea what your augmentation could look like and what the best possible options are to see if breast augmentation is the right decision for you.

Should I Be Worried About My Varicose Veins?

Venous (vein) disease is one of the most under-diagnosed conditions in both men and women. About 55 percent of American women and 45 percent of American men suffer from some form of venous disease. Early stages of venous disease are usually not problematic for individuals other than maybe some cosmetic concerns, but as venous disease worsens, it can become very painful and severely affect an individual's quality of life. With all of the advances in the treatment of venous disease, it can be diagnosed from the earliest stages. Early diagnosis is important because the condition can be treated easily. When it worsens, it becomes much harder to remedy.

There are many forms of venous disease. Most people are familiar with spider veins and varicose veins. Spider veins are tiny purple or red blood vessels seen under the skin and are usually painless but can be unsightly. Spider veins often are hereditary and may be found anywhere on the body but most are commonly seen on the legs from the top of the thighs down to the ankles. Varicose veins are dilated blood vessels that bulge outward from the skin. They occur when veins are not properly returning blood from the lower leg to the heart and can be painful and limit your ability to be active. They may cause other symptoms such as itching, burning, pressure and aching that typically worsens toward the end of the day. Severe cases sometimes lead to ulceration of the skin and occasional bleeding.

The best option for diagnosing and treating venous disease is through a center for vein restoration. At Ciao Bella Vein Clinic we have always prided ourselves in offering the most advanced and successful laser vein treatment in Phoenix. We  now offer a new state of the art vein disease treatment option. The Quanta MDK laser tool is the most advanced machine available on the market for the treatment of venous disease.
